Once upon a time there was a large field planted with marvellous and lush fruit trees, lying on the banks of a river. The trees produced cherries, plums, peaches and apples... lots of top quality fruit, beautiful and above all delicious and those who came here, came equipped with a basket to collect as much as they wanted...
No, it's not a fairy tale! This place and this opportunity really exist!
The "enchanted" field is located in Gorle, just 4km from the centre of Bergamo, and overlooks the Serio River. Adults and children are welcome here every Saturday and Sunday from the end of May to September. The staff at "Fior di Frutta" will welcome you and let you try some of their home-grown delicacies, explain how to properly pick the fruits and then... it’s time for the fun! You have no time limits, in fact, the staff also advise you to enjoy the walk along the river in order to combine the experience with a bit of relaxation amid nature. And the fruits? Delicious and super zero km! Cherries are harvested at the end of May, while in the warmer months there are peaches, plums and apricots. The basket that is given to you holds about 1kg of fruit: the cost for the cherries is €5 per kg, while for other fruits it is €2.50. Inexpensive and quality, what do you want more?
