Red Kilometre – Technology Park

Red Kilometre – Technology Park

Description

A dream come true for those who love research and innovation: The Red Km is home to start-ups, teaching centres, laboratories and scientific projects. A strong bond with the territory aims to create synergies and development, involving companies, universities and public enterprises, to export the Made in Bergamo mark throughout the world.

It is home to big names in international industry together with young people seeking to establish themselves: the blending of these two actors allows the flourishing of an otherwise difficult to achieve partnership.

Designed by the celebrated architect Jean Nouvel, the Scientific Technology Park is one of the top 10 places of excellence for innovation in Italy.

The main concept was to combine environment and innovation, creating a research facility with green surroundings. Over 200,00 square metres of campus protected by a bright red kilometre-long wall marking a clear direction and is unmistakably visible from the thousands of cars that pass everyday on the highway. It’s a curtain and a boundary line between the highway traffic and a research oasis.
