Sala Piatti

Sala Piatti

Description

The hall, located in the Upper Town, was named after the famous cello player from Bergamo Alfredo Piatti. As you step inside it, look up to the ceiling: it is lavishly decorated with a golden edge enriched by putti and framed, along with a fresco depicting a dance scene.

This hall hosted numerous performances by renowned musicians, such as Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, Uto Ughi, Salvatore Accardo, just to name a few. After a closing period due to renovation works (from 1998 to 2003) it came back to the old glory and it keeps playing a crucial role in the national and international music scene. Besides, every year in November it hosts the International Cello Festival “Alfredo Piatti”.
