The main characteristic of our restaurant is horsemeat, which is served in all its cuts and cooking methods since 1977. This sort of “innovation”soon became a tradition, so that the most renowned food guides and national newspaper started to write about us.
Over the years, our cellar has grown and now offers a wide range of national and local wines.
Moreover, we use and enhance the best product of the Scanzorosciate territory n many of our dishes, the Moscato di Scanzo wine, Italy’s smallest DOCG product.


The land of Scanzorosciate offers many beautiful itineraries across the hills, where it is possible to taste the renowned Moscato di Scanzo right in the wineries. Besides, on every September the Association “Festa del Moscato di Scanzo e dei Sapori Scanzesi”, to which we belong, organizes a great day to celebrate this fantastic wine.
Besides, currently Scanzorosciate hosts the only oil mill in Bergamo province: go try the extra virgin olive oil, you are going to love it!
Many renowned figures lived in these lands, such as Giacomo Quarenghi and Alberico da Rosciate. More recently, the area of Scanzorosciate experiences a massive development of cement industry. 
The name of our restaurant comes from the community of Negrone (in Italian: black). In this place there was an old furnace manufacturing bricks: workers used to go out of there all covered with soot!
Moreover, the Monte Negrone street was named after an old farmstead. In the early 70s, a famous tv series was shot here, directed by Sandro Bolchi and starring Giulietta Masina.

Speciality

Our speciality has been horsemeat since 1977. From our experience, we decided to publish two books (the first one in 1983) in order to spread the knowledge about its organoleptic characteristics.
Besides our recipes, the books also include some scientific news carried out by Donato Turba, a famous butcher who is also graduated in nutritional sciences (also hosted by the TV programme Masterchef), along with many advices about the cuts provided by Mario Rossoni, butcher.

Typical local dish

Scanzorosciate doesn’t have a traditional dish, but we decided to mix our best characteristics with Moscato Di Scanzo: therefor, risottos, steaks and eggnog Mousse flavoured with Moscato di Scanzo wine represent our personal idea for relating ourselves with the territory.
