Luzzana Museum of Contemporary Art- Meli Donation

Description

Set up in Giovanelli Castle, a late 17th century building, an integral part of the medieval village of Luzzana, it has housed the Museum of Contemporary Art since 2003. With over 220 works donated by Maestro Alberto Meli, sculptor, and by the painter Ester Gaini Meli, his wife, the exhibition pays homage to the two artists who, with their work, have shown a sincere attachment to the traditions of the places from their childhood.

A fascinating journey: from the neoclassical sculptures by Giosuè Meli to the Dada works by Arp, Richter, Probst and Valenti, followed by a narrated path by Alberto Meli and Ester Gaini with captivating messages that are still valid and up-to-date. The visit continues outdoors amongst art, history and nature along the path of the diffused museum, with a visit to the Park of the Giant and the homonymous rock sculpture.
