The castle is located in a dominant position in the valley of the Oglio River. It rises on the edge of the protective nucleus of Calepio, on the remains of a former medieval fortress.
The current building was constructed around 1430.
The path that leads through the village to the castle offers the opportunity to see important historical features as it winds through authentic buildings and offers a wide and pleasant view of the surrounding river panorama.
Of the manor that was both a military garrison and a noble residence, today the severity of the defensive bulwark is evident. Inside are elegant rooms decorated with paintings and fine stuccos.
Public openings are managed by the Conti Calepio Foundation and are published in the news section of their website, while for groups of minimum 15 people it is possible to organise private tours.
