ALPE CORTE MOUNTAIN REFUGE

ALPE CORTE MOUNTAIN REFUGE

Description

First stage of the Eastern Orobie Path ring, the Alpe Corte Refuge is called the refuge without barriers, because it is suitable for groups, families with children and equipped to accommodate enthusiasts with mobility difficulties.

At 1410 m, it is always open and frequented both in summer and in winter, and is an excellent starting point to reach the Branchino lake, at 1784m.

Starting from Valcanale, it is an hour's walk along path 220 that winds through the woods. It can also be reached via path 270A, starting from the Mezzeno Mountain Cabin, in the Brembana Valley, in an hour and 40 minutes, passing the Marogella Pass, which at an altitude of 1873m is the highest point of the route.

The highlight of this refuge is hospitality: rooms with a private bathroom for a total of 30 guests and enjoying the highly recommended and revisited dishes, such as cocoa ravioli with prosciutto and apples, blueberry risotto and apple pie with amaretto. There are 80 seats in the indoor dining room and 150 outdoor seats, where hikers can sit freely. There is also a deckchair rental service to enjoy a break in the sun.
