VINERIA COZZI

VINERIA COZZI

Description

Vineria Cozzi is located in the heart of the Upper Bergamo, surrounded by ancient Walls in the main pedestrian street, a few meters away from Piazza Vecchia: a place where tradition meets innovation by means of its excellent food and wine.
The restaurant was born in 1848, when it was used as after-theatre for the near Teatro Sociale: you can see the drawing of it at the entrance, and admire the beautiful XIX Century furniture pieces. Come and make a journey across its delicious dishes, recommended by the Gambero Rosso and by the best renowned culinary guides, and its incredible assortment of fine wines. A place where you will go back, to discover the newest proposals of our ever-changing menu, along with the best wines served by the glass.

The Vineria Cozzi has been in business sing 1848, giving onto the “Corsarola” – the main street of the Upper Town, “Bergamo Alta”. Since then, it’s been restoring its customers with great flavours and expertise, luring them with the chirping of a decoy bird standing over the old entrance glass door, next to the red bench. Fantasy, tradition, authenticity, attention to details, good and beautiful products…These are our key features, the know-how that’s able to make you feel “at home” in this restaurant, which is also a wine bar, a meeting place where nothing is left to chance: in fact, if you happen to get here by chance, you will surely come back on purpose. You will enjoy the best traditional flavours from Bergamo and so much more.
Our menu, changing with the seasons, aims to welcome tastes and scents from all over the world, as we feel like we are “flavour wayfarers” and ”taste explorers”. Wayfarers, because the road is our best teacher; explorers, too, because we experiment, we try, we taste and we chose what to put in the dish.
In this journey, we’ve been supported for a few weeks by or “Appetitoso”, an elegant and refined three-wheels “Ape” car equipped with a professional kitchen, allowing us to be actual travellers both in Franciacorta, by Berlucchi’s with “Cantine Aperte” (“Open Wine Houses”) and by “Da Vittorio Restaurant” at “La Cantalupa”, thus becoming actual flavour explorers and, above all, creators of excellent and simple food. You can taste this simplicity in one of our special parcels: ash-baked potato parcel with Gorgonzola and candied chestnuts, or with meat ragout and Grana Padano cheese, with crème freche, anchovy and chilli pepper, or even with goose terrine…Moreover, you can taste our delicious egg cooked at low temperature with polenta and Taleggio cheese fondue, or even out butcher’s tartare and his fantastic preservative-free frankfurters. The dishes travelling on board of the “Appetitoso” have been designed, tasted and loved: they represent the “Vineria Cozzi” at its best, a place where sitting at the table and eating is a form of pure pleasure. We want to be a moving kitchen with strong Walls, welcoming everyone who’s eager of new flavours.
