Schilpario has become an extremely modern ski resort; the lifts are just a stone’s throw away from the centre of the town and from the start of the fantastic and renowned crosscountry ski trail.
The pistes are located in the spectacular Epolo Basin, surrounded by
beautiful dolomitic mountains that provide a backdrop to unspoilt countryside: it is for this reason that the town’s motto is “ski in freedom”.
The latest pistes to be built cater for all levels of skiers, from beginners to experts.
HOW TO GET THERE
From Bergamo, take the Valle Seriana provincial road until Ponte Selva, then turn right along the provincial road towards Clusone/Passo Presolana and continue until you reach Dezzo (57 km). From here, take the 294 trunk road to Schilpario (65 km).
Alternatively, from Bergamo, take the Tonale trunk road until Boario Terme and then turn
onto the 294 trunk road, the “Via Mala”, and continue until you reach Schilpario (75 km).
The resort is 115 km from Milan. Scheduled bus services run from Bergamo, Milan and
Sesto S. Giovanni.
