The resort of Monte Pora lies on a mountain east of the villages of Dorga, Bratto and Castione.
These villages are situated in a basin surrounded by the intense green of an unspoilt forest of tall trees. While the nearby Presolana Pass is popular with groups and families, Monte Pora is favoured by more experienced skiers.
This can be seen by the numerous ski lifts, which serve 19 pistes, 2 of which are for experts only.
Cross-country skiing is also popular and is practised intensively near the Magnolini Mountain Refuge. Here, the season never ends.
On the piste Malga Pora - Pian del Termen night skiing every Friday.
HOW TO GET THERE:
From Bergamo, take the Valle Seriana provincial road until Ponte Selva and then turn right
towards Clusone/Castione. At Dorga, turn right to Colle Vareno and Monte Pora. There is also a scheduled bus service to Castione and from there by coach.
