Le Mura nella Storia (The Walls in History). Treasures of a Renaissance fortress city

Description

If you thought the year-end surprises were over, you'll have to think again! Starting December 1, a special exhibition dedicated to the history of Bergamo and the imposing walls that made it a great Renaissance fortress opens at Palazzo del Podestà.

Created through a collaboration between Museo delle Storie, the City of Bergamo and the UNESCO Secretariat, the scenic and immersive display of Le Mura nella Storia  (The Walls in History) will make you relive all the events of the Venetian ramparts. Discover the characteristics of a fortress "in the modern style" and the strategic role of our city, a defensive outpost of the Serenissima. On display will be 50 treasures including weapons, paintings, instrumentation, manuscript documents and printed books, here thanks to the collaboration between six cities - Bergamo, Venice, Turin, Florence, Milan, Brescia - and sixteen important institutions - museums, libraries, archives and private collections.

A unique opportunity to discover extraordinary works and heritages!
