Bergamo in the heart of Christmas
Hundreds of Christmas events are waiting to brighten up your festive season

Bergamo is in an ideal position as it is located in the heart of Northern Italy. It is the perfect base for exploring the neighbouring cities with their markets and glittering streets.

In less than an hour you can reach Milan, Como, Brescia, Lakes Garda and Como as well as the beautiful Lake Iseo.

Hundreds of Christmas events are waiting to brighten up your festive season.

Everything at your fingertips, all infused with the magic that only Christmas can give.

With a program like this, spending your holidays in Bergamo will be like opening an Advent calendar!

The first stop on the tour is Milan, the city of shopping, lights and Oh Bej Oh Bej, a fair that boasts 500 years of tradition and the presence of the most iconic figures of the Milanese market: second-hand vendors, confectioners, print sellers, painters, wrought iron masters and Fironatt sellers, the typical necklaces made from boiled chestnuts.
In Milan, you will also find the Christmas Dream in Via Ippodromo. Covering over 30000m2, it is the largest themed village in Italy. A dream for all children that will make the magic of the holidays even more magical.
Another stop, about an hour's drive from Bergamo, is Como with the 26th edition of the Città dei Balocchi and the Magical Light Festival. Lasers and lights transform the facades of the buildings into a colourful Nordic landscape. Enchantment guaranteed!
Just over an hour away, Verona awaits you with its Christmas in Piazza dei Signori. From 15th November to 26th December the square is filled with the typical little houses with the wood, glass and ceramics craftsmen as well as gastronomy, in collaboration with the "Christkindlmarkt" of Nuremberg. You could also take the opportunity to make a stopover along the shores of the nearby Lake Garda.
Even closer, still on Lake Garda, in an hour by direct bus from Bergamo, Gardaland delights you with its Magic Winter, populated by fantastic creatures, snow and attractions giving the Peter Pan effect. An unmissable event, open from 7th December to 6th January.
Another possible stop is in Brescia, where the historic centre will be filled with stalls and the city’s museums will open their doors to everyone for free. From December 1st to 22nd you will also find "La Strada Winter", a contemporary circus festival on stage in the squares and streets of the historic centre.
Iseo, 30 minutes from Bergamo, awaits you on the weekends of December 7-8 and 14-15 for Christmas with Taste, Festival of Flavours, Traditions and Typical Products, with tastings, shows, performances by street artists and music in the streets and the squares in the centre.
