Fausta Ferrini Tour Guide

Fausta Ferrini Tour Guide

Description

In 1997 I turned my passion into a job. Showing to every tourist the artistic and historical beauties of a city, telling them everything about its history and anecdotes, let them explore new spots and new perspectives. The different certificates I have achieved for several cities in Lombardy enable me to stress the highlights of each one, enhancing their traditions and histories.

Bergamo still keeps the atmosphere of the Middle Age and the Renaissance: let its charm takes you over!

Tours in Bergamo: suggestions

1) Bergamo: Città Alta. A nice walk across the old town, with its medieval towers, its ancient washhouses, its Renaissance monuments such as Colleoni Chapel and the Romanesque buildings like Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica. Bergamo is also the hometown of the famous music composer Gaetano Donizetti, who was born here in 1797 and died here in 1848. Along the old squares and the paved medieval streets, featuring buildings and ancient arched portals, you can visit the traditional bars, restaurants, shops and workshops, where you will admire or taste the city’s traditional products and Bergamo’s land typical delicacies, from the delicious wines to the ice-cream flavour invented right here in the Sixties: stracciatella!

2) Gastronomic tour: What did the masons who built Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica use to eat?
What did the Renaissance architect Amedeo eat when he designed Colleoni Chapel? What did Gaetano Donizetti tasted, born in Bergamo 1798 and died here in 1848? When was the Donizetti drink born? And how about the Polenta e Osei cake? And casonsei filled ravioli? A visit to the Old Town to discover the best of Bergamo cuisine, its origins, its traditions and fun facts.

3) From Lower Bergamo (Borgo Pignolo district) to Upper Bergamo (on board of the historic Funicular): stories, traditions, ancient and modern activities to get to know the two sides and souls of this city.
