In 2014 we celebrated the 100 years of activity of this plant! The building works ended in 1914: at that time, the Esterle was an extremely modern and up to date hydroelectric plant, able to produce three times the amount of electric power than the previous plants. Also the attention paid to the decorations was something new.
Watch it carefully (maybe during a pleasant ride along the Adda River cycle lane): doesn’t it look like a XV Century country estate, with its floral decorations and the gothic windows?
The attention to details is one of the main traits of this beautiful building.
However, also its productivity effectiveness is outstanding, indeed: it is still operating with the original machineries!
