Opened in 2013, on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the birth of the Locatelli section of the Italian Alpine Club, Hostel al Curò Mountain Refuge is a somewhat unusual retreat: at an altitude of almost 2000m it hosts rooms of 4 and 6 beds with a total of 26 places, all equipped with private bathroom and made with solid oak cladding and panel heating.
At 1895 m, it is the ideal structure for those who want to enjoy a mini holiday at high altitude but are not accustomed to the mega dorms of the mountain refuges. Designed to host student groups or study seminars.
It is a technological hostel, equipped with all the necessary equipment for study and research groups: from the projector to WIFI, without forgetting the library and the conference room on the upper floor.
Reachable from Valbondione in 2 hours and 30 minutes along path 305: after a short stretch on asphalt, take the mule track that winds through the woods. From Valbondione the route is also accessible for lovers of two wheels. Access from Lizzola takes a little longer, allowing you to get to the refuge in 3 hours along path 306. In addition to the classic excursions on Coca, Recastello, Monte Gleno and Torena, you can continue to the Coca mountain refuge on path 303, to the Manina Pass (path 304), the Caronella Pass (path 308) and Tagliaferri (path 321).
Ideal position to go and admire the Serio waterfalls, the highest in Italy.
