Fontabrolo road/steps

Fontabrolo road/steps

Description

450 m long, with a slope of 109 m and 265 steps, it was used since the fifteenth century to reach orchards and vineyards.

The name derives from a spring, evidence of which dates back to the eleventh century, located in the area where there are gardens and orchards. After the first stretch, the steps climb up steeply towards Borgo Canale, which it reaches before branching off into two flights of steps, Fontanabrolo and Ortolani, then continues through the Vicolo dei Gradini alley.
