The finals of the cup named “Naét d’Or”, the rowing competition disputed by the crews of six municipalities of the Iseo Lake (aka “Sebino”), will take place in Sunday August 30th.
The 27th edition of the Sebino “naét” rowing competition (inaugurated in 1989) is coming to its conclusion in the village of Tavernola Bergamasca, after six other races competed in several municipalities of the Lake Iseo.
“Naet” is the name of this lake’s traditional boat that has been used here for centuries, since the times of the Venetian Republic domination: besides, it is still being manufactured by Montisola’s axe masters.
Visitors can still feel the strong relationship between the Sebino inhabitants and the lake, even because the competing crews will represent the lake’s six municipalities, divided into five categories.
The event will begin at 2 pm with the rowers’ parade and the oars’ benediction, the competitions of the different categories and the delivery of the “Naét d’Or” prize to the best male crew over 18. For what concerns the last celebration, during the night the boats on the lake will launch the fireworks.
