CARE AND BEAUTY
Artworks move into the wards!

In Bergamo, art is everywhere! The artistic heart of the city is certainly the Accademia Carrara, which today holds over 1800 works of art, collected over more than two centuries. Throughout 2019 the paintings of the Accademia Carrara can be found even in the hospital. The Humanitas Gavazzeni and Castelli clinics are transformed into art galleries!

The care of art meets the art of care. A project between two institutions to communicate the beauty of art and life in environments commonly associated with anxiety and suffering. That is why, entering the hospital, you will meet Botticelli, Bellini, Lotto, Canaletto, Mantegna, Hayez, Raffaello and other great masters!

"Care and beauty": 25 selected artworks will create a world made of art inside the Humanitas clinics.
The works displayed are very high resolution photographs placed on large surfaces that depict details of the works showing even the signs of the brushstrokes, the cracks of the canvases and particulars invisible to the naked eye.
Admire the looks and gestures of the "Mystic Wedding of St. Catherine of Alexandria", the mist of the Serio Waterfalls painted by Andrea Marenzi and the sweet gaze of Raffaello's "San Sebastiano".
Each image has an informative caption and a QR Code that connects to the project’s website, for further information about the artist and the history of the work.
At the reception of the two clinics you will find an information leaflet on "Care and beauty" complete with a map. Remember to collect the coupon for a reduced admission to the art gallery and discover the original paintings.
